ICF Installation Training Classes

Amvic-Pacific offers a seminar for contractors, architects, engineers, owner-builders or homeowners interested in learning how to use ICFs (Insulating Concrete Forms) to construct the exterior shell of a residential or commercial structure. Classes are held near Sacramento California, and taught in a one day format.


The Course

Classes are a mix of instructor-led class room presentations and hands-on-demonstration of the basics of construction of residential and light commercial structures using insulating concrete forms (ICF). The majority of the information provided is largely applicable to all brands of ICF block construction.


The class includes all of the practices needed to construct the ICF shell of a typical 1-3 story building. Targeted for construction professionals, the class, nonetheless, will also work for prospective homeowners with a basic understanding of construction practices.


With completion of the course, an attendee will have been exposed to all of the basic requirements & skills needed to build a typical 1-4 story residence or light commercial structure.



There are no prerequisites for the course, however, a basic familiarity with construction practices and terms will assure receiving maximum benefit from the course.

Amvic Installer Training Course Covers:

  • Features & Benefits of ICF construction: energy-efficiency, fire resistance, sound resistance, durability
  • Tools required
  • Footing types and preparation
  • Basics of block installation and assembly
  • Rebar placement & installation
  • Window and door installation
  • Top plate/sill & truss/rafter attachment
  • Bracing and pouring ICF walls
  • Forming and pouring elevated concrete floors & roofs using ICF
  • Utility installation: electrical & plumbing
  • Below grade installation and waterproofing
  • Multi-story applications
  • Wall claddings (stucco, siding, etc.)
  • Basic estimating
  • Efficiency in construction


Class Schedule

March 21, 2014; June 20, 2014; September 19, 2014 in Roseville, CA


All classes run from 8:30-4:30



$245.00, which includes all materials, beverages, snacks and a catered lunch.


Included: Technical manual, training guide, refreshments and on site lunch.

From I-80 take State Route 65 North

Exit onto Blue Oaks Blvd West and cross over the freeway

Turn Right at the first road. Sign says “Allentown to Industrial”

At the stop, turn right onto Industrial Ave.

The PCCA building is 10656 ¼ mile on the right.
